Short Profile
Carolin is a German lawyer with solid management experience of an international non-governmental organisation, and strong background in general public international law and corporate social responsibility, with particular interest in international criminal law and transitional justice mechanisms. Carolin joined the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in November 2007. She is coordinator of IMPRS REMEP.
Her major areas of qualifications and expertise include:
- Development and implementation of international rule of law projects supporting the reconstruction of (post-) conflict societies.
- Planning, organising and implementing international conferences/workshops relating to international criminal law and policy.
- Heading of an international non-governmental organisation (financial, personal and scientific leadership and oversight); networking/collaboration with governmental and non governmental institutions and organisations.
- Presentations, research and publications in the field of corporate social responsibility; international criminal law and policy; transitional justice; international human rights law; institutional law of the European Communities, democracy and federalism; globalisation; German constitutional law.
- Ph.D. in public international law from the University of Zurich (Switzerland).
- Languages: fluency in English, French and German (mother tongue), Italian (functional).
